Reach A Village is excited to announce that we now work with ministry partners in the beautiful country of Albania! We share the story of *Nadia, whose life was transformed from being a Muslim with little hope for the future to becoming a follower of Jesus Christ with hope for eternity!
"My name is *Nadia, and I am 38 years old. I am married with two sons, both followers of Jesus Christ, while my husband has yet to embrace faith. I come from a family within the Roma Community with a Muslim religious background.
Growing up, I adhered to the teachings of Islam but felt a profound emptiness within me. Despite my upbringing, I found no solace in my spiritual life. When I turned 18, my father arranged my marriage without considering my desires, and I found myself wedded to a man from *****, residing in the impoverished ***** area of Tirana.
My husband's family, like mine, practiced Islam, and although our marriage initially seemed stable, economic hardships soon burdened us. We faced severe poverty, struggling to afford basic necessities. In our dire circumstances, I sought assistance from a Christian social center in our neighborhood. There, I encountered not only material support but also the genuine love and compassion of Christians, challenging my preconceptions.
Inspired by my son's newfound faith, I began attending church and participating in Bible study groups, where I discovered the transformative power of Jesus Christ's love and forgiveness. Despite facing opposition from my Muslim in-laws, who vehemently opposed my faith, I remained steadfast in my beliefs, even amidst conflicts with my husband.
When my husband lost his job, I encouraged him to turn to Jesus in prayer, promising that He would provide. Miraculously, within a week, my husband secured a better-paying job, and I found employment at the same Christian social center that once aided us. Witnessing these blessings, my husband's heart softened, and he acknowledged the power of our prayers.
Today, my family's dynamic has shifted. My husband no longer opposes my faith, and we are seeking a new home away from the influence of his family. I am grateful for the unwavering support of my sons and the transformative power of God's Word in our lives.
The Bible has become my lifeline, filling me with hope and faith each day. I am thankful to Reach A Village ministry partners for providing me with a Bible free of charge, as I could never afford one before. My earnest plea is for more Bibles to be made available in Albania so that others may experience the same transformation and salvation that I have found in Jesus Christ.
