The majority of Serbians have never heard the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Hana is one of those people.
Hana is 16 years old and grew up in a family where she heard little teaching or conversation about God. Imagine life without knowing God’s unconditional love. Life without songs of praise or prayer or the truth of God’s Word.
Hope came to her home when her parents became believers after a local ministry leader shared the Gospel with them. Reach A Village’s ministry partners are hard at work in Serbia. They are continuously engaged in identifying and training new ministry leaders. The key to spreading the Gospel and building a firm foundation of faith is starting new churches.
Hana noticed immediate changes in her parents’ lives, and she began asking questions. Instead of thinking her parents were strange, like many teenagers might be tempted to do, she wanted to know more about this Jesus they kept talking about.
Soon, she joined a group of believers as they met together to study the Bible. God’s truth began to fill her mind and heart. As the Apostle Paul reminds us in the book of Romans, “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him” (Romans 15:13).
After hearing that Jesus loves her and calls her to follow Him, Hana became a believer. She and her parents confessed their faith in Christ publicly, and they were baptized. Now, she serves her group by playing the guitar and helping to lead their worship.
“God’s love is perfect,” Hana says. “He loves me as His daughter. He will never leave or disappoint me.”
