Values Education ministry to children in the Philippines depends on volunteers like Billy. For the past nine years, he served as a volunteer teacher in four schools located in a remote mountain region. To reach the children, Billy would ride a motorbike for two hours and then endured a strenuous five-hour hike.
One morning while Billy was still at home, a fire engulfed his thatched-roof house. He initially escaped the blaze, but then his heart for sharing God’s Word drove him back inside. He tried to save 13 New Testament Bibles that he was planning to give to his precious students.
Billy’s journey came to an end when the roof collapsed, trapping him inside. He was rescued, but he died on the way to the hospital. He is survived by his fiancée, his friends in the Values Education ministry, and the more than 260 children he was teaching about Jesus. Please pray for them all.
